Paleo Sweet Potato Chips Recipe

paleo-sweet-potato-chips

Here is an easy paleo snack recipe you can make with a few minutes prep time over the weekend, and enjoy throughout the week. These sweet potato chips are one of my favorite home movie snacks and I make some and keep in an air tight container when I do all my cooking for the week on a Sunday morning or afternoon. You can use either your oven or a microwave.

I also pair these chips with my paleo zucchini chips for two different textures and flavors. I would season the Zucchini chips with salt and the sweet potato chips with either cumin or cinnamon if I feel I want something sweeter. Let me know what combinations worked for you.

Ingredients
  1. 2 medium sweet potatoes sliced thin with either a mandolin or knife depending on how thick you want it
  2. olive oil or coconut oil
  3. sea salt
  4. pepper
Oven Baked Paleo Sweet Potato Chips
  1. First pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Toss the sliced sweet potatoes in whatever oil you decided to use, along with your seasoning of choice.
  3. Lay the slices on the baking tray, try not to let them touch.
  4. Bake for 20-30 minutes, turning them over at least once.
  5. Take it out leave to cool in a towel lined dish.
Microwave Paleo Sweet Potato Chips
  1. First of all you need to line your sheet with parchment paper, or this might not work
  2. Toss the sliced sweet potatoes in whatever oil you decided to use, along with your seasoning of choice
  3. Line the tray with parchment paper
  4. Layout your sweet potatoes
  5. Microwave on the high setting for two minutes.
  6. Flip over the sweet potatoes.
  7. Microwave for two more minutes.
  8. Now you need to microwave again, but this time keep an eye out every couple of minutes as they can start to get burnt at any point now. Just keep an eye on it.
  9. If you went for thicker sweet potato slices then it might take a little longer.
  10. Take it out leave to cool in a towel lined dish.

This recipe sounds really good, and I would like to try it. I was curious how much olive oil or coconut oil to use?

    Thanks so much. 😊

      Thanks!

The reason I have not included an exact amount is that it does depend on the thickness of the chips. Use just enough to coat them. Please let me know how it goes.
