Is eggplant paleo? Yes it is. Eggplant is a plant and is also a fruit and is mostly carbohydrates. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of Eggplant on the Paleo diet.

Advantages:

  • High in Vitamins
  • High in Minerals
  • Contains Phytonutrients (antioxidants)

Disadvantages:

  • Eggplant is a nightshade and should be avoided by anyone with autoimmune or reactions to alkaloids.
  • It contains oxalates, which can inhibit calcium absorption, avoid if you have Kidney issues.

I eat them regularly and have no adverse reactions to it. Generally to test your personal reaction to any food. Stay away from it for a couple of weeks and reintroduce that to your standard diet and look for any reaction that is out of the ordinary.
